February 2012
2012 starts with an excellent boost of business figures for January. Also the 'Polythene Handbook' is in the process of being finalized by our design people and reaching final edit. Launching in February, this handbook unlocks information to buyers as regards trade terminology and price add-ons for printed polythene.
November 2011 - New Products
We are pleased to reflect on our new Durasak Flexplas PP Sheet.
This product has taken off in a big way with a major local company placing a regular order, saving them ££££ on a previous protective packing sheet. * see 'Our Products' for more information.
October 2011- In gratitude for his hard work over the past 5 years, the staff went to celebrate our General Manager Philip Snowden's 5th Anniversary with Durasak.

As business has been good over the summer months, it was fitting to treat the staff at Durasak to an evening of fun, food and celebration of Phil's anniversary, during which he was presented with certificates from the company including a Certificate for having 1,825 days without injury and also a loyalty certificate of appreciation from the company.
At La Salsa we were served as much Tapas as we could eat. Of course we all held back and moderated our intake!? Along with Sangria & some choice Red Wine the night went well but dieting will commence immediately!!

March 2011 ongoing..
A top University in the south of England have assigned Brian on the Technical side to work closely with them on a new invention that contains bespoke polythene it is envisaged this will revolutionize humanitarian care in the 3rd world. We will add more on this as we are able.
March 5 2011 'The Durasak Do'
Venue: Houghton Arms Country Inn & Restaurant - Withnell
Joining us our special Scottish guest - comedian David Ewen. David entertained the staff with jokes, gags and stories with his typical Glasgow humor, even getting the restaurant staff in on the act - which made the night a truly memorable one!
Brian's quiz - As usual we had to endure a Durasak polythene quiz, this year though it was
viewpoint questions which lightened the mood with some weird & wonderful polythene-based
mottos & team names proving to be a source of much hilarity.
Prizes were awarded to all and sundry including strange booby prizes with Jack and Naomi getting some rather special ones. Jon loved his man-size Buzz light year socks!
Salesman of the year - John Calder, who else? was awarded this honor for his intrepid efforts selling polythene & received a bottle of wine & certificate from the company.
The food: Curries are the specialty here and popular choices were the Chicken Jalfrezi & Chicken Tikka Masala. With the desserts to die for the Plum crumble & Ice cream sundae were both calorie- ridden & delicious (ah well, we'll burn those calories off back at work I'm sure).
February 2011
With Rachel expecting another baby in May we need cover for her side of things looking after sales and bought ledger payments in particular so we have recruited Andrew Deveney who is a skilled dental technician but has taken on a new challenge in polythene accounts at Durasak, has good IT skills and is a meticulous administrator. Already after one month Andy’s firm stand on debt chasing has already reduced the bad debtor list and improved our cash flow.
October 2010
John Calder joins us from the world of TV Ariel installation. He successfully owner-managed this business for over 35 years. His selling skills now being utilized in polythene, he has though adjusted well and as our Business Development Manager John has excelled in opening new accounts locally.
He is now targeting the corporate giants in retail and manufacturing nationwide and brings a breath of fresh air to the company helping us to fine tune our pre-sales methods the upshot being of course to add more customers to our loyal client base.
August 2010
We have now entered into an agreement to distribute Optimax brand products which as well as polythene includes many other general packaging items and sealing equipment etc. The 90 page glossy catalog (1st Durasak release) is been distributed during 2010.
[All of 1st release now placed with clients so from January 2011 we are handing out the 2nd release. Already a large local client has taken advantage of this user-friendly brand catalogue and ordered a number of products]
